about

Wahawi ya Wahawi,
Mustafa Said,
4 Ouds: Bass, Baritone, tenor and soprano.
Ouds made by Albert Mansour.
Wahawi ya Wahawi is A folk melody where children used to sing welcoming Ramadan. In 1933, Husain Helmi ElManesterli and Ahmad Sharif built a song from this folk Melody that Odeon Records gave to the young singer then, Ahmad Abd ElQader, and recorded him singing on a double faced 25cm electric 78rpm disc.
This disc was the highest seller of that year. This record is the most famous until today in all media channels in Ramadan celebrities.
Children, especially in Egypt, still sing this folk melodies in the streets welcoming Ramadan until now.
